Lebanon’s Cafe

Lebanon's Cafe

Lebanon’s Cafe on Carrolton Street in Uptown New Orleans is incredible. Tender lamb, beef and chicken chunks were cooked with onion, nestled between tahini and hummus, framed with fresh greens covered in feta cheese. Not terribly unusual for a middle eastern restaurant, but this plate was killer. My dinner companion had the sauteed vegetable plate, layered in melted cheese, but couldn’t keep his fork from dancing around my plate.

Although I have to recommend Lebanon’s Famous Lebanese tea, last night I noticed a couple tables that had bottles of wine on them. I inquired since there was no liquor on the menu and found out it’s a BYOB place. Great news.

I’ve done a decent job of using my handy dandy iPhone to record many of my meals in the last month, but last night’s combination kabob dinner was gone before I could get photographic evidence. I guess I’ll have to go back. Maybe today.
